The former Heroes star turns 22 years old today. The actress appears in the September edition of Conde Nast Traveler, where she reveals the reason behind her repping the Whaleman Foundation. She told the mag, “I’m an activist who’s aware of what’s realistic to achieve and what’s not. I wouldn’t waste my time going straight for the jugular — I’m not going to preach to people to not eat meat. The Whaleman Foundation’s goals are achievable, and they make sense.” The foundation’s mission is to ‘raise awareness to the issues that not only affect cetaceans, but all marine life, ad the overall health of our oceans’. Remember back when she was 18 years old, she and a group of others risked their lives as they swam in the waters of Japan trying to protect dolphins from being violently slaughtered by Japanese fisherman?
